I hope you’re all having a wonderful summer and are enjoying the great(Hot)weather!
I’m headed off to Florida this week for the 30th Annual International Colored Pencil Society of America’s Exhibit & Convention.
(I know! That was a mouthful! 🤓 Ha Ha!)
I’m the newly elected Chicago Chapter President, so it’s my first time going as a Board Member. I have to tell you; I’m going to learn a lot! I’m looking forward to the President’s Forum to meet other presidents and get some great info to bring back to you all!
What is the CPSA Exhibit & Convention you ask? Here’s a brief summary from the CPSA website: “This annual gallery exhibition takes place each summer and is exclusively for works done in 100% colored pencil. It offers over $15,000 in cash awards, including a prestigious Best of Show (CIPPY) Award. In addition to the gallery exhibition, the selected artwork and award winners are featured on the CPSA website and in the CPSA news magazine.”

I recently treated myself and purchased the full set of 100 Derwent Lightfast pencils. It was my 55th birthday, and after a year of battling the “Big C” I treated myself! Yay! 😃 💝

I suggest printing it out on thick bright white paper if you have it and if your printer can take a paper thicker than office paper.
Also, I got great feedback about offering a monthly membership so… stay tuned; I’m tuning up the platform, and membership will be available very soon! I’ll offer weekly colored pencil techniques and tips on blending, layering, and lots more!
